Caring For Your Carpets
Once you’ve made the decision to enjoy all the qualities a carpet has to give, you need to be sure your investment is protected against everyday spills – let us help you in caring for your carpets.
Protecting your carpet
The Staingard Carpet Protection Programme gives you the peace of mind that, if you accidentally spill something on your carpet and you can’t remove the stain yourself, one of our national team of professional carpet cleaners will come to your home and attempt to remove the stain for you. What’s more – if the spill can’t be cleaned, we’ll replace your carpet.
Staingard Carpet Protector is a highly advanced formula which is applied to your new carpet. It works by locking onto each carpet fibre to create an invisible, durable shield providing superb resistance to oil and water based spills and also wide ranging anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties.
This means stains caused by food and drink spills can be easily removed by simple methods even when dried in.

Obviously the best thing for your carpet is to be covered completely by Staingard & Glasswells, but there are some things you can do to keep your carpet looking new for longer.
Prevent dirt being carried in
To stop dirt being carried inside & on to your carpets, place a barrier such as a doormat in doorways. This removes the worst of the dirt, and if hoovered regularly, is very effective.
Remove shoes when indoors
Shoes with a lot of grip (such as trainers) or with thin heels (like stilettos) can wear out a carpet. This is particularly noticeable in high traffic areas such as hallways and stairs. Reduce this wear by removing shoes when in the house.
Move heavy furniture regularly
Obviously this isn’t viable in every room, but if your space is big enough, moving furniture around will prevent deep indents in your carpet, and change the heavy traffic areas of the room. An alternative to this is to use rugs, which will take the brunt of the impact.
A massive part of increasing the life span of your carpet is to keep it clean. Hoovering is best done once a day, but a couple of times a week will greatly improve the cleanliness of your floor as well as remove dust from your home!
Once or twice a year, give your carpet a complete clean. Please check the manufacturers recommendations for your individual carpet before attempting anything yourself, or call in the professionals!
